24th manned flight of the Soyuz. Yury Romanenko and Georgy Grechko - the first long-term crew (Expedition 1) of the Salyut-6 station. During the flight Romanenko and Grechko made a spacewalk. After returning to Earth on March 16, 1978, Romanenko and Grechko set a new record of the duration of the space flight 96 d 10 h 0 m 7 s (2314 h 0 m 7 s). They surpassed the record of the American crew Skylab 3 , which has been held since 1974. Georgy Grechko also became the owner of the largest cumulative time in space: 125 d 23 h 19 m 52 s (3023 h 19 m 52 s).
