27th manned flight of the Soyuz. Docked with Salyut-6. Vladimir Kovalyonok and Alexandr Ivanchenkov - the second long-term crew (Expedition 2) of the Salyut-6 station. After returning to Earth on November 2, 1978, Kovalyonok and Ivanchenkov set a new record of the duration of the space flight 139 d 14 h 47 m 32 s (3350 h 47 m 32 s). They surpassed the record of the expedition 1 of Salyut 6. Vladimir Kovalyonok also became the owner of the largest cumulative time in space: 141 d 15 h 32 m 17 s (3399 h 32 m 17 s).
